MAINTENANCE
If the transceiver becomes dusty or dirty,
wipe it clean with a dry, soft cloth. AVOID the use of strong chemical solvents
such as thinner, benzine or alcohol to clean
the transceiver. These may damage the
transceiver’s surfaces.
■Fuse replacement
If a fuse blows or the transceiver stops functioning, try
to find the source of the problem, and replace the dam-
aged fuse with a new, rated fuse.
CAUTION: Disconnect the DC power cable from
the transceiver when changing a fuse.
The IC-7000 has three of fuses (DC power cable fuses
×2, circuitry fuse×1) installed for transceiver protection.

CIRCUITRY FUSE REPLACEMENT
The 13.8 V DC from the DC power cable is applied to
all units in the IC-7000, except for the power ampli-
fier, through the circuitry fuse. This fuse is installed in
the FRONT unit.

coverusing your finger nails, this may result in in-
jury.

■Memory backup
All of the CPU’s memory is backed up by an EEP-
ROM (Electronically-Erasable Programmable Read-
Only Memory). All data you set, such as VFO,
memory, set mode contents, etc. is stored in this
EEPROM. There is no internal lithium battery.
