6 Network service commands

6.1 Signal Quality +CSQ

6.1.1 Description

:

This command is used to ascertain the received signal strength indication (<rssi>) and the channel
bit error rate (<ber>) with or without a SIM card inserted.

6.1.2 Syntax

<rssi> :
0: -113 dBm or less
1: -111 dBm
2 to 30: -109 to –53 dBm
31: -51dBm or greater
99: not known or not detectable
<ber> : 0…7: as RXQUAL values in the table GSM 05.08
99: not known or not detectable
Notes: <ber> is not valid and only response “99”

6.2 Operator selection +COPS

6.2.1 Description

:

There are three possible ways of selecting an operator (PLMN):
1) The product is in manual mode. It then tries to find the operator specified by the application and if
found, tries to register.
