Section 4 Start Up
4.1 Switching the Instrument on or off
1. Plug in to the power supply (laboratory analysis) or insert the
battery (field analysis).
2. The push-button switch on the back of the instrument switches
the instrument on (press for about 1 second) and off (press for
about 3 to 5 seconds). An acoustic signal confirms that the
instrument has been switched off.
Note: Do not switch the instrument off and on in rapid succession. Always
wait about 20 seconds before switching the instrument on again,
otherwise you may damage the electronic and mechanical systems.
4.2 Language Selection
The software of the DR 2800/DR 2800 eco spectrophotometer
includes several language options.
1. The first time the instrument is turned on, the language
selection screen will appear.
2. Select the desired language.
3. Press OK to confirm the language selection. The self check will
start automatically.
Changing the language setting
The instrument functions in the selected language until the option is
changed.
1. While you switch on the instrument, touch the screen at any
point until the list for selecting a language appears (about
30 seconds).
2. Select the required language.
Confirm your selection by touching OK. The test program
subsequently starts automatically.
