Analyzer for Return

Shipment

Technical Support will supply a Return Material Authorization
(RMA) number if they direct you to return the analyzer to Luminex,
and instruct you in returning the analyzer according to Luminex
procedures. Decontaminate the unit before shipping.

Before returning the Luminex 100 analyzer, sanitize and
decontaminate the accessible surfaces and internal fluidics system.
This is particularly important if you have analyzed biohazardous
samples. Make a copy of this page to complete and return with the
analyzer. Submit the completed checklist, both signed and dated,
with the Luminex 100 analyzer.

1. Replace the sheath fluid with a 10%-20% bleach solution.

2. Remove specimens, disposables, and reagents from the analyzer.

3. Sanitize the analyzer with a 10%-20% bleach solution using the

Sanitize command on the main screen of the system. Follow this
by washing twice with distilled water.

4. Turn off the power switch on the back of the analyzer, then

unplug the power cord from the wall source.

5. Disconnect the sheath fluid and waste containers.

6. Drain the sheath fluid and waste containers.

7. Rinse the waste container with a 10%-20% bleach solution.

8. Wash all exterior surfaces with a mild detergent, followed by a

10% bleach solution.

9. Open both front doors of the Luminex 100 analyzer. Clean all

accessible surfaces with mild detergent, followed by 10% bleach.

10. Pack the system in a biohazard bag. Return the unit in its original

packaging or an approved shipping container. Include a copy of
this checklist in the packaging.
