Overview of XP Continuous Access Journal operations in NAS Blade systems

The NAS Blade system enables integrated management of data in the array. NAS Blade uses the
LAN environment already in place and enables data within an array to be shared across
heterogeneous platforms. You can also use NAS Blade to copy and maintain data stored in the
array using XP Continuous Access Journal's remote copy feature in the local array. With XP
Continuous Access Journal, you can copy data using the NAS server (even in the remote center),
back up data to guard against failures in primary data volumes, and perform disaster recovery at
the primary site.

To use XP Continuous Access Journal in the NAS Blade system, use XP RAID Manager for Linux in
the local array. If you install NAS Backup Restore on the NAS Blade system, XP RAID Manager
for Linux is installed at the same time. You do not need to install the XP RAID Manager included
with the local array to the NAS Blade system.
