3. Click SNMP Settings in the left menu to display the Setup: Reports - SNMP

Settings page.

4. Type the SNMP contact in the System Contact text box to set the user name of the

contact person.

5. Type the SNMP location in the System Location text box to set the physical

location of the router.

6. Type the read-only community name in the Read Only Community Name text

box. This is the read-only string that gathers status and statistics from the HP EFS
WAN Accelerator. For example: ReAdOnLy.

7. Click Apply to apply your settings to the running configuration. (Apply your

settings to test a new configuration before committing it to memory.)

8. Click Save to write your settings to memory or click Reset to return the settings to

their previous values.

Setting SNMP
Trap Receivers

Optionally, you can set SNMP traps in the Setup: Reports - SNMP Trap Receivers
page. Traps are messages sent by an SNMP agent that indicate the occurrence of an
event.

To set an SNMP trap

1. Click the Setup tab to display the Setup: Optimization Service - General Settings

page.

2. Click Reports in the left menu to display the Setup: Reports - Alarm Settings page.
