ONFIGURING

THE

HP EFS WAN A

CCELERATOR

To enable connection
forwarding

1. Click the Setup tab to display the Setup: Optimization Service - General Settings

page.

2. Click Advanced Networking in the left menu to display the Setup: Advanced

Networking - Connection Forwarding page.

3. Under Add New Entry, type the in-path IP address for the neighbor HP EFS WAN

Accelerator in the Neighbor IP text box. (When you define a neighbor, you must
specify the HP EFS WAN Accelerator in-path IP address, not the primary IP
address.)

4. Type the in-path port for the HP EFS WAN Accelerator in the Neighbor port text

box. The default value is 7850.

5. Click Add Peer to add the neighbor HP EFS WAN Accelerator to your running

configuration.

6. Under Global Settings, click Enable Connection Forwarding.

Type a port number in the Port text box to set the port to listen on for neighbor
connections. The default value is 7850.

Type a keep-alive interval in the Keep-Alive Interval text box to set the time
interval to ping the neighbor HP EFS WAN Accelerator. The default value is
10.

Type a keep-alive count in the Keep-Alive Count text box to set the number of
pings before terminating connection with the neighbor HP EFS WAN
Accelerator. The default value is 3.

7. Click Update Settings to apply your settings to the running configuration.
