Configuring a connector to use the address book

After creating and enabling the address book, you can configure connectors to use it.

To configure a connector to use the address book:

In the console tree, click your mail or fax connector, click

Properties

, and then click the

Local

Address Book

or

Address Books

tab.

Internet Address Book

for mail connectors or

Fax Address Book

for fax connectors,

click

Choose

. The

Data Link Properties

window opens.

Select the

Provider

tab and select

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server

.

Select the

Connection

tab.

Click

OK

to close the window and return to the

Local Address Book

or

Address Books

tab.

To verify that you can manually add an entry to the database, click

Add

, enter user information

in the

Add a Contact

window, then click

Add

.

If the address book is not enabled, select the

Enable

check box.

Save

, select or specify the profile name, then click

Save

.

Select or enter a
server name.

The name of your server.

Enter information to
log on to the server.

Use a specific user
name and
password

User name: sa
Password: The password specified when you
installed MSDE.

Allow saving
password

You must select this option to correctly configure
the address book.

Select the database
on the server.

The address book database that you want the
connector to use.

Test Connection

Click to test the connection to the database.
