All of the other features of FactoryTalk AssetCentre are available by default. Other
capabilities will be available in future releases.

FactoryTalk AssetCentre clients do not require activation. All activations for FactoryTalk
AssetCentre are locked to the FactoryTalk AssetCentre server.

FactoryTalk Activation version 3.60 or later is required. If a previous version is already
installed, the setup program will inform you to upgrade it to 3.60 or later before
continuing.

To install FactoryTalk Activation, follow the steps below:

1. Follow the on-screen instructions.

2. If a previous version is already installed, the setup program informs you to upgrade it

to 3.60 or later. Click Yes and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

3. When complete, follow the on-screen instructions to open the Manage Activations tab

of FactoryTalk Activation Manager. Once you have the Manage Activations tab open,
click Finish on the InstallShield Wizard Completed dialog box. If you are prompted to
restart your computer for the configuration changes made to FactoryTalk Activation
Manager to take effect, click No to restart later.

4. In the Manage Activations tab, click Get New Activations and select the activation

method you want to use..

5. Continue following the on-screen instructions to obtain your activations.

6. Click Exit on the window with the FactoryTalk Activation installation menu.

FUTURE

If you add activations to the FactoryTalk AssetCentre system in the future, you will have
to refresh activations.

Do not lock activations to virtual network adapters, such as those used for virtual private
networks (VPN) or virtual machines. Instead, lock activations to the Host IDs of fixed
hardware devices, such as hardware network adapters or hard disk serial numbers.
