Templates
OpenManage Printer Manager (OMPM) has templates for each printer model. Templates are
Extensible Markup Language (XML) files having a preset format, which map the OMPM fields against
the method and type of access for a particular printer model. Templates also store information about
printer discovery, firmware upgrade, and connection settings.
When a printer is discovered in the network, the corresponding template of the printer model is
associated with the printer. OMPM uses the SysObjectID SNMP value (.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2) from RFC1213
to associate a template to a printer. OMPM compares the SysObjectID of the printer to the
SysObjectID of the template and associates the printer to a template.
Using the Templates feature, you can register a new template or update an existing template of a
printer model.
