Replacing the Telco Alarms Module (TAM)

The TAM board is on the right side of the CG2200 server chassis floor, just below the front panel. Before
you can replace the TAM board, you must remove the chassis cover, the fan cage, the CPU power
cables, and the support cross bar. (You do not have to remove the front panel board in order to access
the TAM board).

CAUTION: Before replacing any of the boards on the CG2200 server, you must first take the server out of

service, turn off all peripheral devices connected to the server, turn off the server by pressing the power
button, and unplug the power cord(s) from the system and wall outlet.

5.6.1 Removing the Old Telco Alarms Module

To remove the TAM board:

1. Power down the server and remove all peripheral devices and the power cord(s)

2. Remove the chassis cover. For instructions, see “Removing the Cover”.

3. Remove the front bezel. For instructions, see “Removing the Front Bezel”.

4. Remove the sheet metal fan cage.

5. Unfasten the two retaining screws from the front of the chassis. (Figure 51)

6. Disconnect the TAM signal cable that is connected to the FP board. (Figure 51)

7. Disconnect the alarms cable that is routed to the rear of the chassis. (Figure 51)

8. Remove the TAM board from the chassis by pulling it away from the front panel of the chassis.
