For the locations of these cable connectors on the server board and information about how the cables
are routed, see Figure 24. Cable Routing” and Figure 7. Baseboard Components and Connectors”

6. Disconnect the TAM alarms cable from the alarms connector on the rear panel of the chassis. For

instructions. See “Removing the Old Telco Alarms Module” in Section 5.6.

7. Remove the hardware RAID controller board and SuperCap battery module, if installed. For

assistance, see Section 4.3 “Installing a Hardware RAID Controller”.

8. Remove the RMM4 module or RMM4Lite, if installed. For assistance, see Section 4.8, “Installing a

Remote Management Module 4”.

9. Remove the eUSB module, if installed. For assistance, see Section 4.10 “Installing a eUSB Flash

Drive”.

10. Remove the SATA DOM, if installed. For assistance, see Section 4.11, “Installing a SATA Disk on

Module (SATA DOM)”.

If you want to reuse components from this server board on the new replacement board, you can remove
them now or after you have removed the server board from the chassis.

To remove memory DIMMs, see “Replacing or Removing Memory DIMMs” in Section 3.3.

To remove the heat sink(s) and processor(s), see “Removing a Processor” in Section 3.3.

11. Loosen all nine screws holding the server board to the chassis and save them for use with the new

server board. See Figure 60. “A” for the location of these screws.

12. Unscrew the metal standoff for the eUSB module and save it for reuse with the new server board.

13. Tilt the server board up at the front edge and lift it from the chassis being careful to clear the rear

panel of the chassis. (Figure 60, “B” and “C”)
