10. Remove the HDD air duct from the old backplane board by loosening the two screws on the

backplane. (Figure 55, “A”)

11. Save the air duct to reuse with the new board. (“B”)

5.8.2 Installing the New SAS Backplane Board

1. Attach the HDD air duct to the new SAS backplane board. (Figure 55, “A”)

2. Connect the four cables into the back of the backplane board. Be careful that the HSBP I

C/HDD LED

cable does not catch on corner of the backplane board or the air duct.

3. Secure the six-slot HDD backplane in place by placing the cover plate over the HDD bay assembly,

the backplane and the air duct.
Re-fasten the screw that holds the cover plate in place. (See Figure 53, “A” for the location.)
