The 9145 is shipped to the customer with the VT100 Baud Rate set to 9600 Kb/s and the follow-
ing extention and user port interface and functional configuration settings:

2.1 Setting Up VT-100 Terminal Management

When using the RS-232 Serial Port for VT-100 sessions, Canoga Perkins suggests that you use
HyperTerminal or some other type of terminal emulation program when using a PC.

NOTE: The Microsoft Vista operating system does not include HyperTermi-

nal. If your terminal interface computer uses Windows Vista, you
will need to install a terminal emulation program.

The steps below describe how to set up HyperTerminal on your PC. For details on using MS Win-
dows, see your MS Windows documentation.

1. At your MS Windows desktop, select Start>All Programs>Accessories, >HyperTerminal.

2. At the Connection Description dialog, select an icon, enter a name for the connection to

the system, and click OK.

3. At the Connect To dialog, pull down the Connect using menu, select the COM port, and

click OK.
