3.1 IP/SNMP Agent Configuration

The Management IP and Auxiliary IP Addresses are for managing and conducting performance
testing on a TCP/IP network. From the System Configuration menu, type 1 and press <Enter>.
The IP/SNMP Agent Configuration menu (see Figure 3-2) appears. From the IP/SNMP Agent
Configuration Menu, the customer can set or change the current Management IP configurations;
set or change the current Auxiliary IP configurations; and add, edit, or delete Host Table entries
and Trap Table entries. To return to the System Configuration menu, press <Esc>.

3.1.1 IP Addresses

The 9145 has three types of IP addresses.

Management IP - Used to manage the 9145 remotely on a TCP/IP Network.

Test IP - Used to send hot probes in order to collect performance data using the PM and
SAM optional features.

Aux IP - Auxilary IP is available for restricted use. The service provider can allow a customer
to use the Aux IP on the user port for diagnostic purposes.
