Chapter 9. Caring for Your Machine

CLEANiNG THE MACHiNE

CAUTION: Before cleaning your machine, dis

connect power-line plug from electrical supply.

Remove needle plate and bobbin.

With a soft cloth or lint brush, clean at points

indicated by arrows. It is important to keep the
bobbin case area free from lint and threads.
Lint and thread accumulation will affect the
performance of the low bobbin indicator as

well as the quality of machine stitching.

Your machine requires no oiling under normal
conditions. Your SINGER representative, or
Approved Dealer, will examine the perma

nently lubricated parts whenever your sewing
machine requires servicing.

Note: There are no user-serviceable parts in
side the Model 2001 electronic sewing
machine. Therefore any unauthorized tamper
