Ctrl and Alt also invoke codes or commands designated by the
application.

U s i n g F u n c t i o n K e y M o d e

This mode allows you to use the numeric keys (0-9) as
function keys and to enter the other characters on the upper left
corner of the keys (see the next page). On the 8-line/48 Key, you
can enter displayed symbols or numeric keys (0-9) as function
keys. The function keys are used to perform special functions.
Ask your System Administrator if you need to use these keys.

On the 4-line/33 Key in function key mode, the cursor is an
underscore and a vertical line appears on the left side of the
display.

On the 8-line/48 Key Printer, an F appears on the status line, and
the cursor is an underscore.
