Sending a Fax Using a Speed Dial Number

1

Load the document you want to send in the Duplex
Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) or on the scan glass.

See “Loading Document(s) for Faxing” on page 2.3.

2

Make sure that the machine is in the fax idle mode. If
necessary, press Fax to enter the fax idle mode.

3

You can use Resolution, Original Type, Darkness and/or
Duplex

to choose the appropriate sending condition for the

document. For details, see “Adjusting the Document

Settings” on page 2.6.

4

Press Phonebook.

“Search & Dial” appears on the bottom line. Press Enter.

5

Press the scroll buttons. You can search downward or
upward through the entire memory in the alphabetical order

(from A to Z).

While searching through the machine’s memory, you will

see that each entry is preceded by one of three letters:

“T” for one-touch dial, “S” for speed, or “G” for group dial

number. These letters tell you how the number is stored.

Or, press the button labelled with the letter you want to

search for. A name beginning with the letter appears on the

display.

6

When the desired number displays, press Start. The
document scans into memory.

7

If the document is placed on the scanner glass, the display
asks if you want to send another page. Place the next page

on the glass and select “Yes” if you have more than one

page to send. If not, select “No”. The scanned page(s) will

be sent immediately.

8

The fax number stored in the speed dial location will be
automatically dialled, then the document will be sent when

the remote fax machine answers.
