Continuous Access XP Journal

PSUS

(pair suspended-split)
(see

Table 5 on

page 32

for split

types)

Data volume pair is not synchronized because you

split this pair (pairsplit-r) or deleted this pair from

the secondary disk array (pairsplit-S). For

Continuous Access XP Journal pairs, the primary

and secondary disk arrays keep track of any

journal data discarded during the pairsplit-r

operation. While a pair is split, the primary and

secondary disk arrays keep track of the updated

primary and secondary data volume tracks.
When you split a pair from the primary disk array,

the primary disk array changes the status of the

primary and secondary data volumes to PSUS.

When you split a pair from the secondary disk

array, the secondary disk array changes the

secondary data volume’s status to PSUS. The

primary disk array detects this (if path status is

normal) and changes the primary data volume’s

status to PSUS.
When you delete a pair from the secondary disk

array, the secondary disk array changes the

secondary data volume’s status to SMPL. The

primary disk array detects this (if path status is

normal) and changes the primary data volume’s

status to PSUS. You must delete the pair from the

primary disk array to change the primary data

volume’s status to SMPL.

Read / Write

Read Only;

Read / Write, if

write option is

enabled (Disable

is the default).

PSUE

(pair suspended-error)
(see

Table 7 on

page 34

for suspend

types)

Data volume pair is not synchronized because the

primary or secondary disk array suspended the

pair due to an error condition. For Continuous

Access XP Journal pairs, the primary and

secondary disk arrays keep track of any journal

data discarded during the suspension operation.

The primary disk array keeps track of updated

primary data volume tracks while the pair is

suspended.
For Continuous Access XP Journal pairs, if the

primary disk array detects a Continuous Access

XP Journal suspension condition (see ”

Continuous

Access XP Journal suspension condition” on

page 34

), the primary disk array changes the

secondary data volume’s status to PSUE.
For Continuous Access XP Journal pairs, if the

primary disk array detects a Continuous Access

XP Journal suspension condition (see ”

Continuous

Access XP Journal suspension condition” on

page 34

), the secondary disk array changes the

secondary data volume’s status to PSUE. The

primary disk array detects this (if path status is

normal) and changes primary data volume’s status

to PSUS.

Read/write;

Read only if

fenced.
