NOTE:

Specify a port in SLPR 0 when you use LUN Manager to define an LU path to a data volume. It is

possible, but not recommended, that you specify a port in another SLPR when you define an LU path.

For more information about SLPR 0, see the HP StorageWorks XP Disk/Cache Partition User Guide.

Volumes containing a VMA (volume management area) cannot be used as journal volumes. For more

information about a VMA, see the HP StorageWorks LUN Security XP Extension User Guide.

Table 11

lists emulation types and capacities of logical volumes that can form pairs. For more information,

see

Maximum number of pairs

” on page 38.

Continuous Access XP Journal also supports the local disk array’s custom volume feature, which allows you

to configure custom-size LUs that are smaller than standard-size LUs. When custom-size LUs are assigned to

a Continuous Access XP Journal pair, the secondary data volume must have the same capacity as the

primary data volume.

Table 12

lists the emulation types and capacities of the master and restore journal volumes that can be

used for Continuous Access XP Journal.

Table 13

list the RAID-level combination of data volume and journal volume in the journal group that can

be used for Continuous Access XP Journal.

Maximum volume capacity

Maximum capacity of volume for each emulation type

Minimum volume capacity

Minimum capacity of a custom volume.

NOTE:

A journal groups consists of

areas containing journal data and an

area containing metadata for remote

copy.
