Function of the 10-port valve

The 10-port valve is used for sample preparation. For this, the central port
(15-2) can be connected to the other ten ports one after the other using
the selector (15-1).

The transfer tubing is connected to the central port. Liquids can be aspira-
ted into the transfer tubing by one of the ten ports with the aid of a Dos-
ino and then transported to any other port by reversing the flow.

Can be rotated for selecting the active port.

Central port
Connected to the transfer tubing.

The selector can rotate in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. Nor-
mally, the shortest path is selected when switching over to a new port.

Secured ports
In order to avoid contamination, any given port can be defined as
"secured". The secured port is moved to during switching only if it is the
target of the switching procedure.

If the secured port lies along the shortest route during a valve switchover,
then the longer path will automatically be selected.

Example:

Switching from port 10 to port 7.
