Push the pressure screw over the end of the capillary far enough
that approx. 4 mm of the capillary is exposed.

Screw the pressure screw in place at port 4 of the 6-port valve.

4 Connecting port 5

Push the pressure screw over the loose end of the capillary con-
nected to the outlet of the Metrosep I Trap 1 – 100/4.0 (17-17)
far enough that approx. 4 mm of the capillary is exposed.

Screw the pressure screw in place at port 5 of the 6-port valve.

5 Connecting the sample loop

Push the pressure screws far enough over both ends of the sam-
ple loop that approx. 4 mm of the loop is exposed.

Tighten the one pressure screw at port 3.

Tighten the second pressure screw at port 6.

4.6.2

Mode of operation of the 6-port valve

A sample loop is installed on the 6-port valve; it is used for measuring the
sample amount before it is transferred to the analyzer.

Ports
As its name implies, the 6-port valve has six ports.

inlet for the sample and the standard solu-
tion and check standard.
