4.2.3

Removing an Add-in Card from the Riser Card Assembly

Caution:

When handling an add-in card, observe normal safety and ESD precautions. See

Appendix A, “Safety Information”

for more information.

1. Remove the PCI riser card assembly. For instructions,

Section 4.2.2, “Removing the PCI Riser

Card Assembly” on page 56

.

2. Turn the riser card assembly upside-down.
3. Remove the rear retention screw that fastens the riser card to the rear bracket. (“A” or “D”)
4. When removing a full-height add-in card, remove the front retention clip by loosening the blue

captive screw and rotating the clip outward. (“B”)

5. Remove the add-in card from the riser card socket. (“C” or “E”)
6. Determine your next steps and follow the appropriate procedures:

— If you are installing a replacement add-in card, see

Section 4.2.4, “Installing an Add-in Card

— If you are ready to reassemble your system, see
