Keypad Functions

Key

Function

POWER

Turns the

Counterpart unit on/off.

NOTE: If the PC1 jumper is set to SW, the POWER button must be used to turn the unit on and off. If the PC
jumper is set to ON, the unit will automatically power on when it’s plugged in and the only way to turn it off is
to unplug power.

MENU

SETUP

Enters Menu mode, allowing configuration if the Audit jumper is in the “ON” position. Also used as an
“escape” key in Menu mode.

ZERO

Sets the current gross weight to zero, provided the amount of weight to be removed or added is within the
specified zero range and the scale is not in motion. The zero band is defaulted to 1.9% of full scale, but can
be configured for up to 100% of full scale.
NOTE: 1.9% is required for legal for trade applications.

UNIT

WEIGHT

Used to enter a known unit weight of a part.

PRINT

Sends “on-demand” serial information out the serial port, provided the conditions for standstill are met.

TARE

Performs one of several predetermined Tare functions dependent on the mode of operation selected in the
TAREFN parameter. To view a stored tare, see Section 1.5.
Also acts as the ENTER key

B/N

GROSS

NET

Allows the display to change between gross mode and net mode.

SAMPLE

Pieces

This is used for computing the unit weight by sampling.
Press the SAMPLE key after placing a sample on the platform, or after using the numeric keypad to enter the
sample size.
The default sample size is 10.

UNITS

TOGGLE

This switches the weight display to an alternate unit. the alternate unit is defined in the Setup Menu and could
be kg, g, lb, oz.

Clear key. Used to backspace on entries

Alpha-Numeric
keypad (see
Figure 1-1)

Used to enter values directly. Press keys for small and upper case alpha characters.
