Default/Ethernet Test Preferences

Interface Configuration

Note: The following IPv4 configuration parameters apply to both the stream and

the interface and are available for both ports (FTB-8510B). The
configuration of Stream Tag in TX applies as well to IPv6.

Auto-Negotiation: The Auto-Negotiation check box should be
selected if the connected switch is also set to Auto-Negotiation,
otherwise the Auto-Negotiation check box should be cleared.
When selected, the Ethernet and Fibre Channel Application will
indicate to the switch which parameters to use. The
Auto-Negotiation check box is selected by default. Available with
10/100/1000Mbps interfaces.

Stream Tag in TX allows to automatically select the Stream Tag
check box (refer to page 202) every time a Frame Analyzer test is
created. The Stream Tag in TX check box is selected by default.

IP Address: Enter the IP address for both the stream and the
Ethernet port. The factory IP address is 10.10.x.y, where x and y
are respectively the two least significant bytes of the port default
MAC address.

Automatic IP Address: Automatically selects DHCP when a test is
created allowing to dynamically obtain an IP address from a DHCP
server. The Automatic IP Address check box is cleared by default.

Subnet Mask: Enter the subnet mask for both the stream and the
Ethernet port. The default setting is 255.255.0.0.

Default Gateway: Enter the default getaway address for both the
stream and the Ethernet port. Default Gateway must be enabled to
enable the default gateway address field. The default setting is
0.0.0.0.

Enable: Enables the default gateway IP address for both the
stream and the Ethernet port. The Enable check box is not
selected by default.
