This will copy the required files from device rmt0 to the filesystem mounted on
/inst.images. The NIM operation will automatically expand the /inst.images
filesystem as required.

9.2.6.2 Defining the Shared Product Object Tree (SPOT)
Resource Object

The

SPOT resource is required for bos_inst operations for stand-alone machine

configurations. This resource type represents a SPOT, which is a directory
containing the BOS run-time files and optional packages required for most NIM
operations.

The machine serving the SPOT resource must have the

bos.sysmgt.nim.spot fileset

installed.

To define the SPOT resource object, proceed as follows:

1. Ensure the /export filesystem is mounted.

2. Create the /export/exec directory.

3. Enter the following fast path command:

smitty nim_mkres

4. Select the

spot

resource object type.

5. Enter the resource-specific information as required.
