ACTIVESYNC

CHANGE E-MAIL SECURITY OPTIONS

ActiveSync lets you set up S/MIME e-mail encryption and signing. You

will have to obtain a valid certificate for signing or encrypting e-mail

before you will be able to sign or encrypt e-mail successfully.

1 In the phone Home screen, press [Start], select

ActiveSync and press O [OK].

2 Press the right soft key > [Menu] select

[Options] and press O [OK].

3 Scroll to E-mail and press the right soft key >

Settings.

4 Press [Menu] select Advanced and press O [OK].
5 Do one or both of the following:
6 To sign all outgoing messages so that a recipient

can be certain that the message as received was

sent by the claimed sender, and has not been

altered in any way, check Sign messages.

7 To encrypt all outgoing e-mail to protect the

contents of the message from being viewed by

anyone other than the intended recipient, check

Encrypt messages.

ACTIVESYNC

CONNECT TO A PC USING BLUETOOTH

Follow the instructions in ActiveSync Help on the PC for configuring

Bluetooth on your PC to support ActiveSync.

1 In the phone Home screen, press [Start], select

ActiveSync and press O [OK].

2 Press [Menu] Connect via Bluetooth. Ensure that

the phone and PC are within close range.

3 If this is the first time you have connected to

this PC via Bluetooth, you must complete the

Bluetooth wizard on the phone and set up

a Bluetooth partnership with the PC before

synchronizing.

4 Press Sync.
5 When finished, press [Menu] and select

Disconnect Bluetooth.

6 To preserve battery power, turn off Bluetooth.
