Power-on self-test

As power is applied to the Power Supply, the Power Modules and the Main
Controller undergo internal testing of the control circuits.

Power

Modules

At power-on, the Power Modules perform the following tests:

♦ Processor Memory.
♦ Program Memory.
♦ Control circuits` power supplies.
♦ Analog section reference voltage.
♦ Digital to Analog Converter.
♦ Analog signal paths.
♦ Non-Volatile Memory.

The results of the Power-on tests are available to the Main Controller.

Main

Controller

The Main Controller performs, at power-on, the following tests:

♦ Program Memory.
♦ Processor Memory.
♦ Visual display, indicators and buzzer test.
♦ Main Memory.
♦ Internal Tables (initialized if in error).

Power-on auto configuration

Following the power-on self-test, the Main Controller scans all the channels, looking
for installed Power Modules. As the scan progresses, the lower row of the display
shows the state (condensed status) of the scanned channels.

Retain and

Initialize

Following a successful scan of the installed Power Modules, the Power Supply will
set the initial Power Modules state to either the last known state (before power was
turned off) or to a predefined idle state.
