Setup procedure

This section explains the procedure for setting up a 3DC multi-target configuration using Continuous

Access XP Synchronous and Continuous Access XP Journal.

1.

Install Continuous Access XP Synchronous and Continuous Access XP Journal. Configure ports and

journal groups. Journal groups must be configured for arrays at the three sites.

2.

At the primary site, create a Continuous Access XP Synchronous pair.

3.

Wait until the status of the Continuous Access XP Synchronous pair becomes PAIR.

4.

At the primary site, create a Continuous Access XP Journal pair.
When creating a Continuous Access XP Journal pair, select a value from 1 to 3 as the mirror ID.

5.

Wait until the status of the Continuous Access XP Journal pair becomes PAIR. To create a Continuous

Access XP Journal pair for delta resync operations, continue with step 6.

6.

To create the Continuous Access XP Journal pair for delta resync operations, specify the Continuous

Access XP Synchronous S-VOL in the Continuous Access XP Synchronous secondary site as the

primary Continuous Access XP Journal delta resync data volume, and specify the Continuous Access

XP Journal delta resync secondary data volume in the Continuous Access XP Journal secondary site

as the secondary data volume. For instance, execute the "Paircreate –f async … -nocsus" raid

managed command from the DC2 and DC3 sites in order to create the suspended journal pair..
Select any mirror ID from 1 to 3, except the one used in step 4.
