Configuring a datasource
To configure a datasource:
1 In the New destination window or the Select Recent DataSource window, click Configure . The
Configure Datasource window opens.
2 Select the database type, then specify the appropriate settings.
3 After specifying the settings, click Test Connection .
4 When the system displays the “Successfully attached to the database” message , click OK twice.
The Data Field Selector window opens.
Database type Settings
Microsoft Access Specify the path to the Access database (*.MDB). Select the Blank
Username and Password check box, if the database does not require
these credentials. Otherwise, enter the required user name and password.
Microsoft SQL Specify the SQL Server, the user name and password used to access the
SQL Server, and the Catalog/Database.
Other Specify the Datasource connection string. You can enter the string in the
field or you can click Build String and then specify the Data Link
properties (see “Specifying Data Link properties” ).
