Operation

4.10 Turning OFF the Analyzer & Purging

Turn OFF the analyzer by pressng the I/O but-

ton for at least 2 seconds, or untl two beeps are

heard. The unt wll count down 5 seconds before

shuttng down, gvng the operator an opportu-

nty to keep the analyzer turned ON by pressng

the RUN/HOLD button.
If the PCA 2 was not purged wth fresh ar as

descrbed n Secton 4.8, then the analyzer may

reman ON wth ts pump runnng and dsplay

the message “PURGING SENSORS” as the re-

sult of combuston gases stll beng present nsde

the analyzer. At ths tme the operator should

ensure that the probe s removed from the stack,

allowng the analyzer to purge tself wth fresh

ar. The 5-second-shutdown sequence wll not

begn untl the gas levels nsde the analyzer drop

below predetermned levels:

TIP: Although not recommended, the purg-

ing process can be bypassed by pressing the I/O button a

second time.

4.11 Low Battery Alarm

When the batteres are nearly depleted, an empty battery con appears n

the upper-rght corner of the dsplay, and a short beep s sounded every

10 seconds.

After a low battery alarm occurs, the analyzer

wll contnue to operate for only a few mnutes.

The amount of operatng tme that remans de-

pends on many factors (e.g., pump and backlght

beng ON or OFF, and the type and condton of

the batteres).
