9.1 OAM Control

From the Link OAM screen, select OAM Control (1) and press Enter. The OAM Control (Figure
9-2)
opens.

The OAM Control screen has two sections. The top of the screen shows status information. The
bottom of the screen allows you to control the OAM settings and displays configuration
parameters. Each screen contains Link OAM status and configuration for two ports. To navigate
to different ports, use the (N)ext and (P)revious commands. Press Esc to return to the Link OAM
menu.

The standard configuration parameters and their corresponding MIB objects are listed in the
section “User Interface MIB Objects”.

9.1.1 OAM Operational Status

At initialization and failure conditions, two OAM entities on the same full-duplex Ethernet link
begin a discovery phase to determine what OAM capabilities may be used on that link. The
following is the list of possible values:

Disabled Returned if OAM is disabled on this interface via the OAM Admin State.
