OAM Control

99

Link Fault If the link has detected a fault and is transmitting OAMPDUs with a link fault
indication, the value is link Fault. This value will also be returned if the interface is not
operational.

Passive Wait Returned only by OAM entities in OAM Mode passive. Reflects the state in which
the OAM entity is waiting to see if the peer device is OA capable.

Active Send Local Used by active mode devices. This value reflects the OAM entity actively
trying to discover whether the peer has OAM capability.

Send Local And Remote The local OA entity has discovered the peer but has not yet accepted
or rejected the configuration of the peer. The local device can, for whatever reason, decide that
the peer device is unacceptable and decline OAM peering.

Peering Locally rejected Message displayed when the local OAM entity rejects the peer OAM
entity.

Send Local and remote OK OAM peering is allowed by the local device.

OAM peering Remotely Rejected The remote OAM entity rejects the peering.

Operational Local and remote OAM entities have accepted the peering and OAM is up and
running.

Non OperHalf Duplex This message is displayed when OAM is enabled on a half duplex link, as
it is not intended to function on a half duplex link.

9.1.2 OAM Max PDU Size

This is the OAM maximum PDU size that the 9145EMP supports. If the OAM maximum PDU size
of the 9145EMP differs from that of its peers, the smaller of the two maximum OAMPDU sizes
will be used between the peers.

9.1.3 OAM Revision

The revision number increments when there is a change in the OAM configuration of the
9145EMP. The change in revision number triggers the peer to re-evaluate whether OAM peering
is allowed.

9.1.4 OAM Functions

The following functions are communicated to the peer and supported in the 9145EMP OAM
application.

1. Unidirectional The 9145EMP supports the transmission of OAM PDU on links that are

operating in unidirectional mode.

2. LoopBack The 9145EMP can initiate and respond to loopback commands.

3. Link Events The 9145EMP can send and receive event notification OAMPDU.

9.1.5 OAM Loopback Status

This setting returns the status and states. Four states are available: no loopback, initiating
loopback, remote loopback, and terminating loopback.
