5.6.1 LAG Configuration

To configure LAG, from the Link Aggregation Main Menu (Figure 5-17) type 1 and press Enter.
The LAG Configuration screen (Figure 5-18) opens. You can configure aggregation ports and the
aggregation group.

5.6.1.1 Aggregation Group

To configure an aggregation group, from the LAG Configuration screen (Figure 5-18), type 1 and
press Enter. The LAG Aggregation Group Attributes screen (Figure 5-19) opens.

To configure, type the number of the attribute and press Enter. When you are finished
configuring, type A to accept and then press Esc to return to the LAG Configuration screen.

The aggregation group attributes are:

Admin status Enables or disables the Link Aggregation Group. The group must be enabled in
order to transmit and receive traffic.

Priority A numerical value attached to the System MAC address in order to create a unique
System ID. Enter a number in the range 1 - 65535.

Actor admin key Administrative key of the group (or port) used for dynamic port to aggregator
mapping. Enter a number in the range 1 - 65535. In the group screen, this is the group admin
key; in the port screen, it is the port admin key.

Distribution algorithm specifies the mechanism to send frames on one port or another, on the
network side. Supported mechanisms are:

MAC/XOR Determines the destination port for each frame based on XOR-ing the source

and destination MAC address of the frame.
