Sending a LAN Fax

Local Area Network (LAN) Fax allows you to send faxes from the print driver on your computer to a fax

machine over a telephone line. The Fax window allows you to enter recipients, create a cover page with

notes, and set options. You can select confirmation sheets, send speed, fax resolution, send time, and fax

dialing options.

Notes:

If you select the Fax job type, some features, such as Edge Enhancement, Thin Line

Enhancement, and Black Enhancement are turned off.

Not all printer models support this feature.

To send a LAN fax:
1.

With the desired document or graphic open in your application, open the Print dialog box. For most

software applications, click

File > Print or press CTRL+P.

2.

Select your printer, then click Properties to open the print driver dialog box.

3.

On the Printing Options tab, from the Job Type list, select Fax.

4.

To add recipients, click Recipients, then select an option.

Do one or more of the following:

Click the Add From Phonebook button. In the Add From Phonebook window, click the arrow,

then select a phonebook from the list. Select names from the upper list or to search for a

recipient, type a name, then click the search icon. To add a name to the Fax Recipients list,

select the name, then click the down arrow to move it to the bottom list. When you are finished,

click

OK. To add additional names, repeat this procedure.

Click the Add Recipient button, type the recipient name and fax number, add other

information, then click

OK. Add new recipients as needed.

5.

To include a cover sheet, click Cover Sheet, then from the Cover Sheet Options list, select Print a

Cover Sheet. On the Cover Sheet information tab, type notes that you want to appear on the cover

sheet.

6.

To include a watermark on the cover sheet, click the Image tab, then for Watermark, select Custom.

To include a text watermark, from the menu, select Text. A Text Watermark uses the characters

typed in the Text field as the watermark. You can create a text watermark to print on a

document. Select options such as font size, font type, font color, and angle. Click

OK.

To include a picture watermark, from the menu, select Picture. A Picture Watermark uses an

image as the watermark. The picture file can be in

.bmp, .gif, or .jpg format. You can create a

picture watermark to print on a document, and select options including size and position on the

page. Click the folder icon, navigate to the file location, then select the desired picture file. To

include the file, click

Open. Click OK.
