arp

Description

This command displays, deletes, or adds entries in the ARP cache.

Command Types

shell and winslc

Formats

For the shell:

arp

-a [

ip_address

]

-d

ip_address

-s

ip_address

mac_address

For the winslc command:

winslc

baseport

mac_address

Parameters

-a

Displays all entries in the ARP cache table or just the

ip_address

entry.

The following parameter is accepted:

ip_address

—Defines the IP address of the destination device in

dotted decimal format.

baseport

Defines the baseport number for AI296.

-d

Deletes an entry from the ARP cache table. The following parameter is
accepted:

ip_address

—Defines the IP address of the destination device in

dotted decimal format.

-s

Adds a permanent entry to the ARP cache for the current session.
Permanent entries must be in the same subnetwork as the IP address
of the destination device. The following parameters are accepted:

z

ip_address

—Defines the IP address of the destination device in

dotted decimal format.

z

mac_address

—Defines the MAC address of the destination device.
