Adding or Removing VLAN Ports

This procedure is used to add or remove ports from tagged or untagged
VLANs. Here are a few guidelines:

You cannot change the VID of a VLAN. If you need to change a
VLAN’s ID number, you have to delete and recreate the VLAN.

To change the name of a VLAN, you have to use the command line
commands.

A port that is set to the supplicant or authenticator role in 802.1x Port-
based Network Access Control cannot be moved to a different VLAN
until you change its role to “None.” For instructions, refer to “Setting
the Port Roles” on page 222.

To add or remove ports from a VLAN:

1. From the Home page, click the Configuration button.

2. From the Configuration menu, click the Layer 2 button.

3. Click the VLAN tab, shown in Figure 81 on page 210.

4. Click the radio button of the VLAN you want to modify. You can modify

only one VLAN at a time.

5. Click the Modify button to display the Modify VLAN popup window. An

example of the window is shown in Figure 83.
