Importing files
Introduction
This section explains how you can import files in other formats (e.g. Microsoft Excel) into the
program and paste the data into the marker areas.
The import can be effected into the marker types in the catalog or into template files (*.mpt) set
up by you.
There are various ways to import a file:
1. Manual Import (with the possibility to create a script file of the import) (see chapter "Manual
Import")
2. Automated import via a script file see chapter "Automated Import".
3. Automated import with one/several script files (batch import) see chapter "Batch Import“.
4. Remote-controlled import via the command line (prompt) (see chapter "Calling up command
lines").
The following file formats can be imported at the moment:
*.asc
*.csv
*.mpx
*.txt
*.wbe
*.we?
*.xml
Manual Import
For the manual import, the import wizard supports you when selecting the import parameters.
You can save them at the end of the import wizard to carry out automated imports with these
settings (see chapter "Automated Import").
Starting the import
Start the import using the menu items File > Import…
Follow the steps of the import wizard.
