CAUTION: Before replacing any of the boards on the CG2100 server, you must first take

the server out of service, turn off all peripheral devices connected to the
server, turn off the server by pressing the power button, and unplug the power
cord(s) from the system and wall outlet.

When handling the FP board, observe the normal safety and ESD precautions. See
Appendix A: Safety Information for more information.

Removing the Old Front Panel Board

1.

Remove both of the chassis covers. For instructions, see “Removing the Chassis

Covers” in Section 3.2.

2.

Remove the riser card assembly. For instructions, see “Removing the Riser Card

Assembly” in Section 3.2.

3.

Remove the processor air duct. For instructions, see “Removing the Processor Air

Duct” in Section 3.2.

4.

Unfasten the black protective cover on top of the FP board.

5.

Disconnect all of the cables connected to the FP board. See Figure 7 and Table 4

for the cable routing. For the location of each connector, see Figure 59.

5.1.

Disconnect the front panel power cable that comes from the SAS/SATA

backplane board.

5.2.

Disconnect the ganged 80mm CPU fan power cable.

5.3.

Disconnect the LED/switch board power and signal ribbon cable.

5.4.

Disconnect the 60mm PCI fan power cable.

5.5.

Disconnect the TAM module alarms cable.

5.6.

Disconnect the bridge board. For instructions, see Section 5.3,

“Replacing the Bridge Board”.

5.7.

Disconnect the SD flash module USB cable, if installed.

6.

Unscrew the fastener at the rear of the FP board and slide the board away from the

front panel to lift it up and out of the chassis. (Figure 60, “A”)
Save the screw for reuse with the new replacement FP board.
