Section 5: The Utility Mode

This fmarMode contains the comprehensive MIDI Controls and Assignable functions of the FX770. Here you can set­
up the customized control over your FX770 to suit your needs. Complete Data Dumps (via MIDI downloading) are also

available for saving or archiving your work to an external storage source.

The UTILITY Mode is entered by pressing the [UTILITY] function key and is verified with it’s own LED located above

the'[UTILITY] key.

5.1 MIDI PROGRAM CHANGE TABLE

All Preset Programs and User Programs of the FX770 are available for recall via MIDI Program Change message. The
manner in which the FX770 responds to MIDI Program Change is assignable with the MIDI Program Change Table. You
may save seven different MIDI Program Change Tables for different “sets” or situations, these are called Banks, thus
allowing unlimited arrangement of Preset and User Programs.

The MIDI Program Change Table display on the LCD contains the Following information:

Bank

Program#

MIDI#

Bank shows the currently selected Bank Letter that is assigned to this MIDI Program Change Table.

The MIDI # displays the incoming MIDI Program Change number.

The Program # displays the FX770 Preset or User Program to be mapped to the incoming MIDI Program Change

number. (P for Preset, and U or User Program)

To Map a MIDI Program Change to a FX770 Program:

1. Press the [UTILITY] key to enter the Utility Mode, continue pressing the [UTILITY] key until the display

appears as above.

2. To change the Bank assignment: Place the cursor under the Bank Letter by using the [◄] [►] cursor keys and

then use the [DATA WHEEL] to select the Bank of your choice.

3. To Map an Incoming MIDI Program Change: Place the cursor under the MIDI# by using the [◄][►] cursor

keys and then use the [DATA WHEEL] to select the MIDI Program number.

4. To Assign a FX770 Program to the MIDI Program number just selected: Place the cursor under the Program#

by using the [◄] [►] cursor keys and then use the [DATA WHEEL] to assign the FX770 Program number.
