Section 5: The Utility Mode

5.5 MIDI CHANNEL

This function sets the incoming MIDI Channel. The FX770 can recieve on any MIDI Channel, Omni or Off

To Set the MIDI Channel

1. Press the [UTILITY] key to enter the Utility Mode, press the [UTILITY] key a few times until the display

appears as below.

2. Use the [DATA WHEEL] to select the MIDI Channel 1 ~ 16, Omni or Off.

If you set it to OMNI, the receive channel is OMNI and the transmission channel is 1.

5.6 MIDI CONTROLLER 1 & 2 SOURCE ASSIGNMENT

The FX770 allows two external MIDI Controllers to be assigned for real-time control of Effect parameters. Any Controller
on a MIDI instrument or MIDI Floorcontroller that transmits MIDI control change numbers between 1 and 95 can be used.
In addition. Key Note, Key Velocity and Channel Pressure can also be recognized. This section describes how to set the
MIDI Controller Sources for both MIDI CONTROLLER l and MIDI CONTROLLER 2. The MIDI Controller Effect
Targets are assigned in the EDIT Mode, please read Section 4.6 for details.

The MIDI CONTROLLER 1 and MIDI CONTROLLER 2 display on the LCD contain the following information:

MIDI CTRL Source determines the source, of the MIDI controller information to be received by the FX770. This

parameter may be set OFF, or to any MIDI Controller number from 1 through 95. You may also select Key Note,

Key Velocity or Channel Pressure for a MIDI Controller Source.

To Set the MIDI CONTROLLER 1 and MIDI CONTROLLER 2 Assignments:

1. Press the [UTILITY] key until the LCD display appears as above. (MIDI CONTROLLER 1 and MIDI

CONTROLLER 2 are found on consecutive pages).

2. Use the [DATA WHEEL] to select the MIDI CONTROLLER SOURCE that you wish to assign to MIDI

Controller 1.

3. Press the [UTILITY] key again to reach MIDI Controller 2, then use the [DATA WHEEL] to select the MIDI

CONTROLLER SOURCE that you wish to assign.

4. Remember to Assign the MIDI Controller Targets for both MIDI Controllers 1 and 2! These functions are set

in the EDIT Mode and are described in Section 4.6 of this manual.
