@ MIDI Out/Thru Select Switch

Selects the type of function that the MIDI Out/Thru jack
will have.

© MIDI Out/Thru Jack

Used to pass MIDI Data Thru or to Dump FX770 MIDI
Data to an external storage device, the function of this jack
is selected by the switch located to it’s left.

© MIDI In Jack

When connected to a MIDI Foot controller or other MIDI
transmitting device, this jack receives MIDI Data for
controlling the FX770.

® FS2 Footswitch port

This programmable jack can function as Bank Select,
Program Select, or as an Effect Trigger. Use the optional
Yamaha footswitch model FC5.

© FS1 (Bypass) Footswitch port

May be set to toggle Bypass/Tuner on and off or to Effect
Select on/off. Uses the optional Yamaha footswitch
model FC5.

® WAH Foot controller port

When connected to the optional Yamaha FC7* foot
controller, this port functions as a remote WAH control.

© Volume Foot controller port

When connected to the optional Yamaha FC7* foot
controller, this port functions as a remote VOLUME
control.

) Meter Select switch

Used to switch the function of the front panel Signal and
Peak LEDs between Input or Insert Loop Return meter­
ing.

Return Level control

Controls the Return Level of your external effect, etc. Use
the same caution as setting the Input Level on the front
panel.

^ Output jacks

The composite MIX output appears at these jacks. Output
Volume of these jacks is controlled by the Output Level
Control located on the Font Panel.

Insert Return jack

When using the Insert Loop feature, this jack receives the
output of your external effect, etc.

^ Insert Send jack

When using the Insert Loop feature, this jack sends the
output of the selected front-end effects of the FX770 to
your external effect, etc.

* As well as the Yamaha FC7 foot controller, a Yamaha

YIC050 (5 m) insert I/O cable allows you to use com­
monly available guitar volume pedals to control WAH

and volume. We recommend this if you usually play
standing up. Refer to next page for illustration.
