Country-specific functions

The functions and paramaters described in this section are set to comply with the BDEW Medium

Voltage Directive (“Mittelspannungsrichtlinie”). They are activated for inverters that are operated

with “Germany” as the country setting and “Medium Voltage Directive” as the grid type.

If the “Medium Voltage Directive” is selected as the grid type the MMI displays a warning message when the user

attempts to change the default settings used to comply with the BDEW Medium Voltage Directive.

9.2.1 Configuring the cosphi control

Cosphi control
The cosphi control function is for controlling active and reactive power which is infused from the inverter to the grid

with Powador-proLOG, MMI, and XCU at long distance.

Communication between components
Cosphi control enables remote control of reactive and active power by setting the reference of reactive and active

power.
Communication between cosphi components:

User activates cosphi control by Powador-proLOG.

Powador-proLOG sends a cosphi control massage at two-minute intervals.

MMI interprets the cosphi control message from Powador-proLOG to modify parameters of XCU.

XCU operates according to the modified parameter by MMI.

Cosphi (limited to Fixed cosphi and Fixed Q) has two overlapping parameters for RPC and internal modes.

MMI modifies the parameter for RPC mode only.

If the relative RPC mode parameter remains longer than five minutes unmodified, XCU will operate according to

the parameter for internal mode.

Cosphi control ways
Cosphi control operates with five reactive and active power control ways according to COSPHI Control Mode para-

meter setting.
