Introduction
About this Manual
This Product Reference Guide (PRG) is provided for users seeking advanced technical informa-
tion, including connection, programming, maintenance and specifications. The Quick Reference
Guide (QRG) and other publications associated with this product are downloadable free of
charge from the website listed on the back cover of this manual.
Overview
Chapter 1, (this chapter) presents information about manual conventions, and an overview of
the reader, its features and operation.
Chapter 2, Setup presents information about unpacking, cable connection information and set-
ting up the reader.
Chapter 3, Configuration Using Bar Codes provides instructions and bar code labels for cus-
tomizing your reader. There are different sections for interface types, general features, data
formatting, symbology-specific and model-specific features.
Chapter 4, Message Formatting gives background information and detailed instructions for
more complex programming options.
Chapter 5, References contains additional information and examples for selected bar code fea-
tures.
Appendix A, Technical Specifications lists physical and performance characteristics, as well as
environmental and regulatory specifications. It also provides standard cable pinouts and LED/
Beeper functions.
Appendix B, Standard Defaults references common factory default settings for reader features
