Punch In/Out

Punch In/Out recording is used to re-record data onto a certain area of a pre-
recorded track. For example, you can replace a phrase from your guitar solo
with a better performance.
There are two ways to Punch In/Out record: Auto Punch In/Out recording, in
which you specify the Punch In/Out points; and Manual Punch In/Out recording,
in which you use optional foot switch Model 8051.
In either case, the Rehearsal function allows you to practice before the actual
take. Using the Punch In/Out recording technique, you can easily and quickly
replace mistakes or phrases you do not like with more desirable takes.
Choose one of these methods to suit your preferences and applications.

* The example here explains how to replace "part of the guitar solo" recorded on

Track 3 with a new phrase by playing the guitar , while listening to the drum and
bass sound recorded on Tracks 1 and 2.
Once you master Punch In/Out recording, you can use this technique for other
tracks.

* Assume that the guitar is connected to the mixer input, and that the output signal

from the mixer is routed to Track 3 of the D-160.

* Do not change the Program or sampling rate until the session is complete.

* First make sure that the D-160 is set to the default setting.
