Mask

(Subnetwork mask)

Defines the IP subnet mask applicable for your company’s LAN.
This IP subnet mask is assigned dynamically when a DHCP server

is present.
If there is no DHCP server, it should be entered manually.

D GW

(Default Gateway)

Defines the IP address for the possible IP router that acts as the

gateway between your company’s LAN and a wide area network,

or WAN, when applicable.
This WAN IP network gateway address is automatically assigned

when a DHCP server is present.
If there is no DHCP server, it should be entered manually.

SWsrv

(Software server)

Defines the IP address for your MD Evolution system’s xMV equip-

ment to which your extension is connected upon start-up, in order

to recover its configuration file, and, when necessary, to update its

software (SW).
Your IP extension contains software that, when necessary, is

automatically downloaded from the identified SW server when the

extension is started up.
This SW server address should always be entered manually.
If the presence of a DHCP server has been confirmed, an

additional parameter “SW server, DHCP” will also appear. It should

consistently be set to “No”.

Proxy Server

(Proxy server)

It is sometimes used to define the existence of a proxy server that

is used by your company’s network IP equipment to access the

Internet network.
In general, that parameter is not used by your extension – set to

“No”.
If the existence of a proxy server is confirmed (set to “Yes”), two

additional parameters will prompt you to manually specify the IP

address and IP port used by the proxy server.

GK discove

(Gatekeeper automatic

discovery)

For any IP extension within your MD Evolution system, the value of

this parameter must be “Default (No)”.
This indicates that the IP address for your MD Evolution’s xMV

equipment that uses the “IP H. 323 gatekeeper” and to which your

extension connects to be authenticated is automatically recovered

from its configuration file, upon start-up.
