Introduction

The Receiving Menu on the RF Portable contains four options: inquire
order, receive order, auto receive, and put-away.

Inquire Order: displays each order in the system. For each order, the
order number, order date, due date, order status, and vendor are dis-
played. Inquire order also allows you to select the order for processing.
See

“Inquire Order Option” on page 93

.

Receive Order: Processes receivables that contain a receiving order
upon arrival at your facility. See

“Receive Order Option” on page 94

.

Item Label Printing: If you enabled receiving item label printing in
the RF Server Options form\Printing tab, the items in the order, and all
of the item information, including item number, item description, quan-
tity, UOM, lot number and pallet number will be bar coded on the item
label. Additionally, the expiration date is included on the item label.
The item label size is determined from the selection in the RF Server
Options form. For more information about the item label settings,
please refer to

“Setting Printing Options” on page 7

. The item label is

automatically sent to the default printer, per your setting, in the RF Cli-
ent Options (selection F7 from the RF Client Main Menu). For more
information about defining the label printer in the RF Client, please
refer to

“The Printers Option” on page 59

.

Auto Receive: Processes receivables that do not have a receiving order
upon arrival. For example, material can be received into a receive stag-
ing location or can be received to its final location. As the process con-
tinues, the order is built and inventory is increased. Once the operator
exits the order, it can be closed preventing further activity for the order.
