Introduction

The Picking menu on the portable contains six options: inquire order, pick
order, auto pick, stage order, wave, and print packing list.

Inquire Order: displays each order in the system. For each order, the
order number, order date, due date, order status, and ship to ID are pro-
vided. Inquire order also allows you to select an order for processing.
(See

“Inquire Order Option” on page 111

.)

Pick Order: Removes items from inventory and records them as
picked or shipped for an order. (See

“Pick Order Option” on page 112

.)

Auto Pick: Picks material that is not contained in a picking order. This
function follows the pick sequencing and pick mode for the item being
picked. As the process continues, the order is built and inventory is
relieved. Once the operator exits, the order may be closed, preventing
further activity for the order. (See

“Auto-Pick New Order Option” on

page 116

.)

Stage Order or Stage Wave: Directs the operator through the ware-
house item by item and location by location to stage material for an
order or wave. This option is identical to the pick order function except
that it does not relieve inventory. The items are either moved to a For-
ward Pick Location or Pallet for processing or to an operator’s Tote to
be transported to a processing area. (See

“Stage Order or Stage Wave

Option” on page 121

.)

Wave: displays each wave number in the system for wave staging
selection.

Print Packing List: enables you to print a packing slip for a picking
order in the system. Enter the pick order number and press <Enter> to
send the packing slip to the user-defined printer, as set in the RF Client
Options, for packing slip printing. (For more information about setting
the packing slip printer, please refer to

“The Printers Option” on

page 59

. (See

“Printing a Packing List” on page 143

.)

Important: Be aware of your picking option settings, as set in the WMS
RF Server Options form/
Picking tab. These settings may effect screen
fields and order processing. For more information about the Picking
options, please refer to

“Setting Picking Order Options” on page 8

.

Also be sure your site is set correctly to ensure proper data retrieval on the
