Configuring NTP Authentication
For information about the NTP authentication commands, see Chapter 6,
“Configuration Terminal Mode Commands” on page 105. To configure
NTP authentication, do the following:
1. Enter the Configuration Terminal mode:
configure terminal
2. Enable NTP authentication on the switch:
ntp authenticate
3. Define an authentication key. In the following example, the key
number is “777,” the authentication type is MD5, and the key name is
“authkey777:”
ntp authentication key 777 md5 authkey777
You may define multiple authentication keys.
Make sure the authentication key is synchronized with an external
device.
4. Specify a key number that you have previously defined with the NTP
AUTHENTICATION KEY command:
ntp trusted-key 777
