Chapter 1: Overview

IP Network Calls. Calls coming from the IP network (data network) can be routed to the Line/FXO
or Phone/FXS interfaces. The Tenor will route calls based upon the dialed number. If the number is
configured as a local phone number, the call will be sent to a Phone/FXS circuit for termination, oth-
erwise the call is considered a “Hop-Off call” and the Tenor sends it out through a Line/FXO inter-
face, typically connected to the PSTN. See Figure 1-6 for an example of a call originated from the IP
network.
